This past weekend was our first Journey Church Mission Project. And when I say that it was a success, you can accept my word for it. Not because I'm a roofer. Certainly not because I was a leader in the project. But because my husband, Kyle, and I were the recipients of your kindness. Ours is the repaired roof.
I’ve fought this blog entry more than any of the others I’ve written so far because I just can't find the right words. I’m not sure that words are adequate. How do I convey our appreciation to the people of this church for the amazing gift they gave us this past weekend? In ways you couldn’t understand, you have touched our family.
This evidence of love, the sacrifices that you all made to make this possible, it has resounded in us. And besides the “warm fuzzies” that it gives us in knowing that we have been loved in this very tangible way … let’s face it! We couldn’t have done this without your help.
The guys who were on the roof for a total of just under 24 hours between Friday and Saturday. The ladies who were without their husbands for the whole weekend. Those who gave financially to see this project completed. This project was a gift of sacrificial love to us from the entire church family.
You guys are freakin' awesome! We love you. And we are looking forward to opportunities ... "open doors" that God is going to provide for us to be able to love others in the way that you have loved us. Deeply, genuinely, and from the heart.
